I've been looking for an old Mal for the last 2 years! the board has to be pre 1969. i want to find one as i would then be able to surf it in competitions. these boards are very rare as they are soo old and are generally found in peoples sheds or even under their houses. these boards are very different to the modern long board as they are thicker different shape and can be quite narrow! when i finally get my hands on one i want to restore the board in my spare time.

in between these blogs i will be trying to surf as much as i can. this weekend i have a competition at isolates just south of Cottesloe beach. i don't think the competition will commence as the forecast is not looking good with onshore winds:( .i was looking forward to this as i haven't surfed as much as i would have liked as i have been busy with various hobbies.

restore these boards are quite difficult as i don't have much experience with fibre glassing but i guess i will just slowly learn and get the hang of it as my dad will help me as he shapes surfboards for himself and me during his spare time.

hopefully i will be able to achieve this goal of restoring a surfboard and be able to ride it successfully in the future.

i shall keep you all updated on my progress of finding the board i want to restore.
